Dr. Laurie Santos is many things: a Yale professor, a scientist, a podcaster, a doctor, a public speaker, and like all of us, a human in search of happiness. After a hit Yale course on the science of well-being and happiness, she decided to offer her course worldwide in the form of a podcast, The Happiness Lab. Laurie’s team reached out to Super Creative to define her personal brand as she grew into a legitimate public figure. Our goal was to establish a consistent brand that was friendly, eye-catching, and approachable, but still professional and credible, especially since Laurie’s research is proven science.
At the forefront is the smiley cloud, clearly representing happy thoughts. This cheerful icon is then paired with a bouncy yet straightforward ‘Dr. Laurie Santos’ wordmark. With these key elements in place, we established the rest of the brand. The bold graphic shapes not only match the style and energy of the icon, but they represent the simple tools and building blocks one can use to reshape their perspective and live a happier life. A full set of brand illustrations were included as well so the identity can convey a wide range of topics in a fun, uniquely branded way. Mixed with vibrant colors, simple typography, and smart layouts, this identity is meant to engage viewers while informing them of the science-backed happiness techniques.
